Category Manager — Pokémon
Be the steward of one game: its catalogue, its community, and whether it is ready to open.
Remote · part-timeCategory Managers are stewards for their communities. The remit covers featured products, educational content, promotions, marketplace health, moderation, and community events — and it is deliberately bounded: a Category Manager strengthens community quality rather than controlling marketplace operations.
Why this role matters beyond its own scope
This is the gate on catalogue expansion, and we have said so publicly: games are opened up as we find a suitable Category Manager. A category stays dark until someone has audited it, because an unaudited empty category reads as a broken game rather than an unopened one. Hiring for this role is what opens new games — there is no other mechanism.
What you would do
- Audit a game’s catalogue and decide when it is genuinely ready to be opened to the public.
- Curate what gets featured, and write or commission the educational content around it.
- Keep the category’s corner of the marketplace healthy — moderation, disputes, and tone.
- Approve catalogue references that need a human signature before publication.
- Be the person who actually knows this game, and tell us when we have it wrong.
The doctrine you would operate under
This is not an onboarding packet written after the fact. It is the ratified doctrine the role actually runs on. Ask and we will send it — a curated public view is being prepared, and until then we would rather name these than point you at a door you cannot open.
